SportsPlay Equipment Opens New Manufacturing Plant

St. Louis, MO – SportsPlay Equipment, Inc., a Missouri-based manufacturer of sports, playground, and site amenity products announced that it has opened a new production facility in Leadington, MO.   The new manufacturing plant consolidates two existing SportsPlay sites – one in St. Louis and one in Park Hills, MO – and will become the new primary manufacturing plant for the company.

SportsPlay purchased and customized the Leadington, MO location to meet its manufacturing needs, including a complete overhaul of both the building interior and exterior.  Inside, SportsPlay’s powder coat booths, paint ovens, welding booths, metal cutting/stamping/fabrication equipment, pipe benders, and drill presses have been moved in, tuned up, and turned on at the new building.   Outside the building, SportsPlay built a brand new 3-bay loading dock, refurbished the parking lot, and proudly added new signage to the building facade.

The move represents an investment in the company’s infrastructure to better serve customers and to allow for continued annual growth.  SportsPlay Equipment’s President, Brian Kearns, explained, “SportsPlay is committed to further improving our on time and complete order delivery and our overall product quality.  Relocating our manufacturing plants all under one roof will enable us to be much more efficient.   We are positioning ourselves for further expansion with the capacity to meet our customers’ demands – now and into the foreseeable future.”

Over the next few months, SportsPlay will be putting all the finishes touches on its new production plant.   Nearby, the former Park Hills factory will eventually be leased or sold.  Meanwhile, at its St. Louis headquarters, SportsPlay will keep its aluminum foundry operation and use the building there for receiving and shipping imported products from Turkey, while offering 50,000 square feet for lease.  Executive offices are also located in St. Louis.
