Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation
(Washington, D.C) The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF) today announced Lisa Gable, HWCF President, has accepted a new position and will leave the organization at the end of February. Becky Johnson, HWCF Vice President, will assume the helm of the Foundation effective March 1st.
"The success of the Healthy Weight Commitment is a tribute to Lisa Gable's leadership," said Ken Powell, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of General Mills, and HWCF board member. "She brought vastly different stakeholders together to achieve tangible results in the battle against obesity. Among her many accomplishments, the most important was her leadership in creating the HWCF Calorie Commitment, which resulted in the elimination of 6.4 trillion calories from the food supply to give consumers access to even more lower-calorie product choices. On behalf of the Foundation's board of directors, we thank Lisa for her dedication to a worthy cause."
"Lisa departs the Foundation with a legacy of significant accomplishment," said Paul Grimwood, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé USA, and HWCF board member. "She inherited a nascent organization in 2009 and grew it into one of the most successful public-private partnership organizations focused on helping American children and families achieve and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. I applaud Lisa for a job well done and wish her the very best on the road ahead."
Ms. Gable will become Senior Vice President, Chief of Global Public Policy Development for PepsiCo, one of the world's leading food and beverage companies, based in Purchase, New York. She will report to Tony West, PepsiCo Executive Vice President, Government Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and will assume her new duties on March 1st.
"It has been an honor to work for the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation for the past seven years, standing side-by-side with some of the world's most intelligent, creative, and passionate individuals committed to reducing obesity." said Ms. Gable. "I look forward to joining a company where profitability and sustainability are inextricably linked together."
