There are several reasons why accessibility is such an important issue for playgrounds. First of all, it is the law; any new playgrounds built after March 15, 2012 are required to follow the ADA guidelines. Secondly, although the number of children who use mobility devices may seem to be a small percentage, those children still have the right to access play areas as much as others do.
