Tony Malkusak, President/Landscape Architect of Abundant Playscapes has over 27 years of experience in the play and playground industry and is considered one of the leading experts on inclusive play environment design. His passion and advocacy for children and independent, self-directed play have touched millions of children and adults worldwide.
Tony's inspiration for creative inclusive playscapes came from his own childhood and the opportunities his family provided to play in a self-directed and enjoy the awe and wonder of the natural environment. He pursued his love of the environment and play and received his Bachelor's of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Honing his skills, Tony has had the opportunity to be around some of the most forward thinkers regarding play. His experiences include working for local parks & recreation departments doing planning work and overseeing capital improvement projects such as playgrounds. Tony also worked in the private sector doing landscape design, landscape architecture and planning work. He also spent 10½ years as the lead design person for a national not-for-profit organization specializing in the creation of inclusive playgrounds for children of all abilities. Along the way, Tony has created playgrounds and playscapes of all sizes, natural and manufactured. He brings his 27 years of knowledge, creative solutions and experience to meet your play environment needs.
