Interesting Facts About Landscape Design

Interesting Facts About Landscape Design

World-known parks, as Hyde Park or Central Park, have not just appeared out of nowhere.

Being the most relaxing and beautiful spots in large cities, these parks are proof of how painstaking landscape design and architecture are and what miracles can come out of this magical specialization. In fact, there is a lot about the field that people have yet to find out.

Landscape design embraces different stages of meticulous and well-planned work.

  • Planning and implementation of the idea

What is needed to make any idea real? As it is, landscape architecture is not different from any other sphere. Here as well, to implement new ideas, the professionals first of all need planning. Planning includes measurements, determining the materials and tools that will be handy during the works, clarification and professional discussions with the clients, etc.

  • Cooperation with other professionals

Landscape designers collaborate with professionals from different fields, from botanists to computer software professionals. Only through cooperation, it is possible to reach flawless and satisfying results.

  • Mixing culture and nature

Landscape design is an excellent mixture of culture and nature. By using cultural elements landscape designers bring to perfection what is given to us naturally. This wonderful mixture of creativity and natural beauty will not leave any passer-by indifferent.

  • Landscape design differs from landscape architecture

Landscape design and landscape architecture are similar. Landscape architecture is broader as compared to landscape design. Landscape architecture encompasses landscape design, as well as the engineering aspect. In other words, landscape architecture requires more professionalism and experience compared to landscape design.

Some more interesting facts

  • Landscape architects cooperate with medical professionals to create curative landscapes. The purpose is to reduce the stress of the patients, reduce symptoms, boost the immune system, etc.
  • Green roofs are excellent substitutes for conventional roofs. This way in hot summers the temperature of the building is considerably reduced, rainwater serves a perfect purpose and aesthetically the environment is much more attractive.

Today, landscape architecture is appreciated in many countries. Australia is said to be the capital of landscape architecture. The beautiful coastlines of Australia are more like works of art. There are approximately 30,000 employed landscape architects in Australia alone. The United States and the United Kingdom are also known for their love and appreciation for landscapes design and architecture.
